Ebbway helps you plan the time between leaving and having to be back at an airport, station or ferry terminal. It works without an account. Almost everything it knows stays on your iPhone. This page lists everything that doesn't.

1. What stays on your iPhone

Your windows: city, departure time, the two ways back and the minutes you entered, your margins, and how each window ended. Also your recent cities, your settings and cached forecasts and holiday lists. This data is not uploaded or synced anywhere, and the developer cannot see it. The Home Screen widget and the Live Activity read it from a container that belongs to the app on your device.

2. What leaves your iPhone, and why

Every request uses HTTPS. As with any internet request, the service you connect to can see your IP address. Ebbway does not add any identifier to requests sent to Open-Meteo, Nager.Date or Apple.

3. What Ebbway does not collect

4. Device identifier and push notifications

Ebbway uses OneSignal to send push notifications. To address your device, OneSignal stores a push token and the identifier for vendor (a random ID Apple gives each app developer on your device; it is not your name and is reset if you remove all of the developer's apps). It is not linked to a real-world identity and is not used for advertising.

The Return Guard alerts about your window are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone; they do not go through OneSignal. You can turn all notifications off in iOS Settings → Notifications → Ebbway.

5. Web pages inside the app

The privacy policy and support pages open in an in-app Safari view. Safari may store cookies or local data for those pages under Safari's own settings. This website itself sets no cookies and loads no analytics or trackers.

6. Support emails

If you write to support, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to answer you, and delete the conversation within 12 months of the last message.

7. Children

Ebbway is rated 4+ on the App Store and is meant for travellers in general. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Keeping and deleting data

9. Where data is processed

OneSignal processes data in the United States. Open-Meteo and Nager.Date are operated in Europe. Where data leaves the EU, UK or Switzerland, it is protected by the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP and Canadian and US state laws, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data about you, object to its processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Since almost everything stays on your device, most requests can be handled directly in the app. For anything held by OneSignal or in support emails, write to us.

12. Changes

If the app starts sending anything new, this page will be updated before that version is released and the date at the top will change. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the App Store release notes.
